Classical music concerts, Mozart Week, jazz performances and world music regularly bring the island monastery complex to life, as do traditional Volksmusik shows, church concerts, exhibitions, art and literature. Culture enhances life and joie de vivre is a work of art!

Tradition is a tangible good here, encouraging active spiritual involvement, inspiring artistic creativity, openness and contemplation. Creativity, calligraphical expertise and music have been broadening minds within these walls for almost 1000 years – through to today. Now, the former Benedictine monastery at Seeon abbey is one of the spiritual and cultural hearts of Chiemgau.

Calligraphy

Do you prefer medieval or modern styles of handwriting? The skill of creating beautiful letters was once a cornerstone of the reputation earned by the original Benedictine monastery at Seeon Abbey. Today, visitors can seize the opportunity to learn traditional and contemporary calligraphy skills.
